It’s cold and gray. Structural and beautiful! There is a family of Carolina wren at my back door busy picking around and building a nest somewhere that I can’t see. But, I did get a chance to look closely at them. . . They are awesome little builders; industrious! And beautiful!
The art show for fall is over, but very good memories. Kat Habib was showing her pottery at our shop and studio – lots of sales and fun as well!
I am going to start a journal for 2025 . I promised myself-to record the odd little things that happen outside, inside and everywhere. It won’t be the same as my calendar, but it will be something daily or at least weekly. That’s the most I can promise myself, besides the already exercising four times a day, walking, and working in the yard, and getting back on board with hiking. And working on the children’s book, to be finished at the end of next year! I’m excited!
Our plan air group has moved inside to sketch figures and work on skills other than painting. It’s quite rewarding to focus on shadow and light in the designated room with a controlled( semi controlled) A different set of skills. Sometimes it seems like a tree is not much different from a figure! But probably we’ll be ready for April when it comes!
I hope I get the trees pruned and the bitter sweet and honeysuckle cut back before Spring DOES arrive. There are seeds I’ve been hoping to start, so I can pop them in the ground. Deciding on few varieties of new bulbs I’ll be putting in as well(probably snow drops and grape hyacinth and fritillary) but it would be fun to put in something brand new.
Lots of pictures…too many to publish… Enjoy!
Happy New Year!
